Pastor's Profile
Pastor Jason Murphy has come to the Swansboro Church of God from serving as the Youth Pastor of the Duncan Church of God. He served there with his wife, Candy, for 7 years under the leadership of Pastor Richard Thomas. At Duncan he was given valuable opportunities to lead in ministry.
In January 1996, at the National Lifebuilder's Conference in Cleveland, Tennessee, he received his call to preach. In September of the same year he and his wife enrolled in the Ministerial Internship Program. This is an intense nine month training course for those entering the ministry. They graduated in May of 1997 with a special commissioning ceremony in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Also in May of 1997 Pastor Murphy received his Exhorter's license. In November of 1999 he advanced to Licensed rank of ministry (now called Ordained Licensed). Pastor Murphy has also completed his Bachelor of Theology degree.
